Report from Egypt says the Ugandan players went on strike and missed tonight’s training session set for 7pm local time over unpaid bonuses and allowances.
A tweet from one of Uganda’s topmost journalist, @UsherKomugisha revealed that the player who players who play tomorrow against failed to show in training.
The Ugandan team qualified to the round of 16 with a win, one draw and a loss in group A with team’s like Egypt and Congo.
Unpaid bonuses and allowances have been an issue in this year’s African Cup of Nations as Cameroon, Zimbabwe and recently Nigeria were among teams who have had gone on strike as they were not paid
They face Senegal in the Round of 16 on Friday at 9pm at the Cairo International Stadium.
