Peter Olayinka was on target for Slavia Prague as they progressed to the quarter-final of the 2020/2021 UEFA Europa League after a 0-2 win over Glasgow Rangers in the Round of 16 return leg at the Ibrox Stadium.
A perfect lofted pass from Jan Boril finds Peter Olayinka, who jumps highest in the 14th minute and steered a close-range header straight into the bottom left corner for Slavia Prague’s opening goal. Olayinka’s effort was both strong and precise of which Allan McGregor had no chance of stopping it.
Kemar Roofe was sent off for Rangers in the 62nd minute due to his mindless behaviour.
Leon Balogun was also sent off for Rangers in the 73rd minute for his second bookable offences.
A minute later, Slavia Prague doubled their lead when Nicolae Stanciu curled a free-kick into the bottom left corner with a phenomenal strike.
Joe Aribo on his part received a yellow card in the 86th minute for a hard and late tackle on a Slavia Prague player.
Slavia Prague progressed to the quarter-final of the UEFA Europa League with a 1-3 aggregate score-line after playing a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
In other fixtures, Iyayi Believe Atiemwen had an assist for Dynamo Zagreb to help them eliminated the English Premier League side, Tottenham 3-2 on aggregate.
Samuel Chukwueze also bagged an assist for Villareal’s first goal as his Spanish side defeated Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 and also made it to the quarter-final 4-0 on aggregate.
The quarter-final draws will take place on Friday, March 19, 2021.
