The three remaining Nigerian players in the 2020/2021 UEFA Europa League (Peter Olayinka, Iyayi Believe Atiemwen, and Samuel Chukwueze) now know their opponents in the quarter-final of the competition after Friday’s draw.
Iyayi Believe Atiemwen’s Zagreb will host Samuel Chukwueze’s Villareal in one of the quarter-final tie.
Dynamo Zagreb eliminated Tottenham Hotspurs 3-2 on aggregate to get to the quarter-final.
Villarreal on the other hand was responsible for the ouster of Dynamo Kyiv 4-0 on aggregate.
Peter Olayinka and his Slavia Prague side will face a daunting task against the English Premier League side, Arsenal over two legs in the quarter-final with the first leg at the Emirates Stadium.
Slavia Prague eliminated Super Eagles duo of Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun’s Glasgow Rangers 3-1 on aggregate while Arsenal saw off Olympiacos Piraeus 3-2 on aggregate.
Former Club of Odion Ighalo, Manchester United will trade tackle with the Spanish side, Granada, while Ajax and AS Roma settle scores in the other quarter-final tie.
The first leg is expected to take place on Thursday, April 8, 2021, with the return leg on April 15, 2021.
