Partizan have extended their run without scoring in Europe to 3 matches.

Partizani under Italian coach Franko Lerda had a poor showing and didn’t test the Moldovan goalkeeper Zvonimir Nikulic on goal for Sheriff over 90 minutes

The Reds Partizani lost to their visitors from Moldova by 1-0 this Thursday evening

The result gives Sheriff Tiraspol a first leg advantage in the second qualifying round of the 2019/2020 UEFA Europa League Qualifiers.

Partizani was eliminated from the Champions League after the draw 0-0 at home and the 2-0 loss to the Azeri team of Qarabag in Baku while Tiraspol defeated Saburtalo by 3 goals to 1 inthe second leg champions League Qualifiers thus giving this clubs the entrance to their present competition.

The difference between the 2 sides was made in the 24th minute, Sheriff Tiraspol scored the winner through Cameroon forward Robert Ndip Tambe who beat the Partizani goalkeeper Hoxha. The keeper punched the shot loaded in from the left wing, but the ball stayed in the box and Tambe accepted the gift  put it in from close range and give Tiraspol the lead.

Ndip’s early goal was his second in 3 matches this season and his first in his first game in the 2019 UEFA Europa League campaign.

Ndip got booked in the 58th minutes of the game but his team held on for the win.

Sheriff Tiraspol and Ndip Tambe will now shift their focus on the return game at home next Thursday
