Odion Jude Ighalo made history by becoming the first Nigerian player to score competitive goal for Manchester United as his club swaggered into UEFA Europa League last 16 with an emphatic 5-0 win over Club Bruges and sealed a 6-1 aggregate scoreline.
It was a dream full debut for Odion Jude Ighalo as he scored a lovely goal with Bruno Fernandes the architect. Fernandes twist and turn on the edge of the box before clipping the ball to Juan Mata on the right. The midfielder then cut back to
Odion Ighalo and the striker finished from close range to double Manchester United lead in the first half of the game.
That’s his first goal for Manchester United, the club he has supported all his life and took a pay-cut to join. The goal is also his first ever European goal.
The goal made Manchester United fans at Old Trafford sing “Odion Ighalo”.
Ighalo went on to dedicate the goal to his late sister that recently kicked the bucket.
