Nigeria’s Jude Odion Ighalo scored his fourth goal for Manchester United in his third start for the club as they trashed LASK 0-5 in their UEFA Europa League Round of 16 first leg.
Ighalo started the game played in an empty stadium due to CoronaVirus for Manchester United and scored the club first goal of the match in the 28th minute.
The goal was a goal utterly wasted in a Europa League game in an empty stadium. Bruno Fernandes flicked a pass into Odion Ighalo on the edge of the area, he juggled the ball three times as he moved it from right foot to left, the ball bounced and he cannon a left-footer in off the underside of the crossbar.
After scoring the first goal, Ighalo also hit the crossbar in the first half of the match. Odion Ighalo was too strong for LASK defenders but with just the keeper to beat he hits the base of the post.
More goals from Juan Mata, Daniel James, Perreira and Ighalo’s replacement Greenwood put Manchester United one league into the UEFA Europa League quarter final.
Ighalo played for 85 minutes before being replaced by Greenwood.
In another Europa League Round of 16 fixture, Joe Aribo and Rangers fell to a 1-3 home defeat in the first leg of their Europa League Round of 16 matchup with Bayern Leverkusen.
