Nigeria forward, Cyriel Dessers scored two goals as his Dutch side, Feyenoord edged French side, Marseille 3-2 in the semi-final first leg of the 2021/2022 UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) on Thursday at De Kuip, Rotterdam.
Cyriel in the 18th minute pounced on a loose ball inside the box and beats the goalkeeper with a shot into the bottom left corner for the first goal.
Two minutes later, Reiss Nelson doubled the lead for Feyenoord while Bamba Dieng reduced the deficit for Marseille in the 28th minute.
Four minutes before halftime, Gerson equalised for Marseille to take the game to a halftime draw.
A terrible mistake leads to Marseille’s defender losing possession in the 46th minute, allowing Cyriel Dessers to pick up the ball before slotting it into the back of the net.
Cyriel Dessers saw 82 minutes of play for Feyenoord before he was replaced by Alireza Jahanbakhsh after scoring his tenth goal in eleven UEFA Europa Conference League games this season.
Feyenoord will return to the league to face Sittard on May 1 before the return leg on May 5 at the Stade Velodrome, Marseille.
