Cameroon pole guard Andre Onana was omnipresent in Ajax’ draw against Apoel Nicosia in the preliminaries of the UCL on Tuesday.
Andre Onana and his Ajax side picked up a zero all tie against Apoel Nicosia in the UCL preliminary round on Tuesday largely thanks to multiple miraculous saves from the former Fundesport boy.
Last season’s semifinalists shook hands and went separate ways with the Cyprus first-tier side, Apoel Nicosia after sneaking a goalless draw with a man short; Mazraoui was given a marching order at the 80th minute.
The Dutch side has not been on the top of their game in this season’s UCL preliminaries but they have always found a way of winning by narrowest of margins – the last stage against PAOK ending 5-4 on aggregate.
Onana and co would be in for a pulsating return leg that would be played on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam.
