- Cameroon-eligible Anthony Elanga has featured for in the UEFA Champions League for the first in in Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against Young Boys Bern.
Potential indomitable Lions of Cameroon and Manchester United FC teenage sensation Anthony David Junior Elanga made his UEFA Champions League debut on Wednesday evening as his Club picked up a point against Young Boys Berne, in the final group game that concluded their qualification for the last 16 of the competition.
The Swedish-Cameroonian started in attack alongside Ivory Coast’s Amad Diallo and English young sensation Mason Greenwood on a night coach Ralf Rangnick invested trust in young players for the goals.
It took just nine minutes for the young forwards to react. Mason scored United’s opener barely nine minutes into the game in a passage of play which the attacking trio played a part.

Young Boys equalized and settled for a point thanks to Fabian Rieder scoring three minutes from the break.
Though another Cameroonian Nicolas Moumie Ngamaleu had a great night for visiting Young Boys in 90 minutes, Elanga who lasted the duration was an attraction back at home as many Cameroonians took to social media to comment about his rise to the top.
The teenage forward following the tracks if his dad was born in Sweden, to former Cameroon International Joseph Elanga. So far, he has played for the different age category national teams of the Scandinavian country, though Cameroonians still believe he can switch allegiance sometime in future.
Elanga came through and has scored goals for different youth teams of Manchester United since 2018.
Last season he made his UEFA Europa League debut and this term he has played a game in the Premier League plus another in the English Football League before his Champions League debut.
The Champions League debut at 19 is indicative of his quality and illustrates Elanga is one for the future of the Manchester Club.
Cameroonians keep hoping the boy will be theirs some day though he previously turned down the chance of representing Cameroon at the 2019 Under-17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
