Christy Ucheibe and her Portuguese side, SL Benfica on Sunday retained the Portuguese Liga BPI Women’s title after a 3-1 win over Sporting.
Carole Costa opened the scoring for Benfica as early as the third minute of play.
Andreia Faria and Ana Victoria converted to make it 3-0 before Sporting’s consolation goal.
The game set the record number of spectators in an official women’s football game in Portugal with 14,221 spectators.
SL Benfica won the league with 36 points from 12 games in the 2021/2022 Portuguese Liga BPI Women’s Championship group, nine points ahead of Sporting with two games to spare.
The team will play Famalicao and Vilaverdense in the last two games on May 15 and 22, 2022, respectively.
