Dream Team VII, Nigeria U23 side defeats Sudan 5-0 to seal qualification for this year’s U23 AFCON slated to hold in Egypt.

With the first leg ending 1-0 in favour of Sudan, Nigeria needs to win by at least 2 goals margin and went straight into business mode as Mainz 05 forward, Taiwo Awoniyi scored Nigeria’s first goal in the 8th minute.
In the 26th minute, Ndifreke Udo Effiong bullet header went beyond goalkeeper Mohammed Adam following a brilliant cross from John Lazarus to put Nigeria 2-0 ahead.
On the stroke of half time in the 45th minute Ndifreke Effiong stays at the right place to pounce on Ebube Duru’s low cross and pokes home for his brace to put Nigeria 3-0 at half time.

Two (2) more second half goals from former Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) forward, Sunday Faleye in the 66th minute and last season highest goal scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Sunusi Ibrahim’s 68th minute strike completes the rout as Nigeria went on 5-0 victorious over Sudan, 5-1 on aggregate.
