Three African referees have been appointed for the opening match of the 2019 Under 20 World Cup in Poland.

The group A and opening match between the host Poland and Colombia will be officiated by Mustapha Ghorbal of Algeria who will be the centre referee and assisted by Ahmed Abo Regal of Egypt and Mokrane Gourari of Algeria.

The trio had officiated the first leg of the 2018/2019 CAF Champions league quarter final match between Simba FC and TP Mazembe.

The tournament which will take place from 23rd May to 15th June will witness the participation of four African teams in Senegal, Mali, South Africa and Nigeria.
