Ghana’s U-23 national team coach Ibrahim Tanko has made public an official list of 21 players to the defend Ghana for the U-23 AFCON scheduled to begin in Egypt in under a weeks time.
The list is made up of 9 home based players and 12 players from abroad.
The four men to spearhead the Black Stars attack are US based striker Ropapa Mensah alongside Samuel Obeng, Franck Arhin and Kwabena Owusu.
Legendary Ghanaian clubs Asante Kotoko and Heart of Oaks jointly provided six of the nine home players. Kotoko’s Kwame Baah, Ibrahim Danlad and Habib Mohammed all made the list. While Richmond Ayi, William Ntori and William Dankyi and the ambassador from Hearts of Oak.
Ghana will face Cameroon for their opening game in Group A on November 8, before facing hosts Egypt and Mali on November 11th and 14th respectively to wrap up the group stage.
The top three teams in the competition that will be played from November 8 to 22, 2019 will seal their places for the Tokyo Olympic Games next year.
