Just like the first two quarter final encounters of the 2021 Under 20 African Cup of Nations, the match between Morocco and Tunisia was decided by penalties on Friday evening.
After a goalless affair in 120 minutes, the match went into penalty shot out with the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia triumphing by four goals to one.
The two teams failed to find the cutting edge in a game that didn’t live up to it billing.
Morocco who had not conceded in the tournament, unfortunately were knocked out in a game of luck as Tunisia made the best of the opportunity to win the tie at the spot.
After a round of penalties that saw Morocco score one and loss two as against Tunisia scoring three, Ahmed Labidi buried the final penalty that sends Tunisia past Morocco into the Semifinals.
The Total Man of the Match went to Morocco’s midfield player El Mehdi El Moubarik. It is second of the tournament.
