The Black Satellite of Ghana are the champions of the under twenty African Cup of Nations for the fourth time after beating the Hippos of Uganda two goals to nil.
Daniel Barnieh was the hero as he gave Ghanaians their 64th Independence Day gift on Saturday night with a goal in each half at the Stade Olympique de Nouakchott.
Despite Derrick Kakooza first attempt at goal for Uganda, it was Ghana that looked threatening in the first half hitting the bar twice.
The goal eventually came in the 21st minutes as Daniel Afriyie Barnieh cashed in on the corner kick to score a beautiful flick and give Ghana the lead.
The game ended with Ghana taking the one nil lead to the dressing room.
Ghana unsettled the Ugandans the more as an Barnieh scored again in the 51st minutes.
The black satellite held on to deny the tournament’s debutant their first title and earn for themselves the first title since 2009 and their fourth in history.
The captain, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh won the man of the match award after the game.
