The Equatorial Guinean U-17 girls team have withdrawn from CAF Women’s U-17 World Cup Qualifiers.
The withdrawal means that Kenya advanced to the second round to play South Africa.
The withdrawal of Equatorial Guinea increased the number of withdrawals at the qualifiers to five after South Sudan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and Mauritania all withdrew from the First Round of the Qualifiers.
Eritrea, Kenya, DR Congo, Senegal, and Benin Republic thus qualified for the Second Round of the Qualifiers without kicking a ball due to the mass withdrawal.
The Nigerian U-17 girls (Flamingos) will face DR Congo while Cameroon will trade tackles with Eritrea in the Second Round.
Three teams will qualify from Africa for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup after the conclusion of the Fourth Round of the Qualifiers.
