Cameroon International, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou earned the ‘Man of the Match’ Award after his instrumental input in Besiktas’ 4-1 victory over Fatih Karagümrük in Match day three of the Turkish Super Lig.
Beşiktaş went head to head with Fatih Karagümrük on Sunday, August 21, at the Vodafone Park stadium, Istanbul city, Turkey.
Kevin doubled the lead for Besiktas with a right-footed shot at the 34th minute to crown the scoring in the first segment of the game.
This was after newly signed Dutch striker from Burnley, Wout François Maria Weghorst opened scoring as early as the 17th minute of play with a header.
Five minutes into the second half, Congolese winger, Jackson Muleka made it three for the Black Eagles, but three minutes later, Senegal’s Mbaye Diagne, scored the lone goal for Fatih.
Deep into the second half, Besiktas defender, Valentin André Henri Rosier, found the back of goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano’s net to increase the scores to four, causing a heavy defeat on the visitors, 4-1.
This 4-1 win takes Besiktas to second position on the table while Fatih are on the 18th spot.
Georges Kevin has played all three matches for Besiktas this 2022/23 football season and counts two goals.
With this extra efforts and contribution in Sunday’s game against Fatih, the former Olympique of Marseille player was voted Player of the Match.
Nkoudou has been with Besiktas since August 22, 2019 and won two titles.
Kevin Nkoudou’s Besiktas seats second on the table with seven points from three games played.
The 27-year-old Indomitable Lion is of his best performance lately which no doubt, sends a strong message to head coach of the Cameroon National Team, Rigobert Song Bahanag ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
He switch allegiance and declared interest in playing for the Cameroon National Team in April this year.
Nkoudou earned his first Cameroon National Team call up in May after being shortlisted in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
His debut match was against Burundi on June 9 2022 at the Dar Es Salam stadium in Tanzania.
