The Tunisia football federation has announced through their official Twitter account that the country will not participate in the 2020 CHAN competition because of the change in the kick off date from January 2020 to April 2020.

CAF recently announced that the 16 countries competitions in Cameroon will run from April 4th to April 25th, 2020.

The last edition of the competition took place in January 2020 in Morocco but CAF has opted for an April competition in Cameroon.

Tunisia eliminated Libya to qualify for the competition, if the decision is not reversed, the North African nation will not be a part of the 6th edition of the competition reserved for players plying their trade in their national championship.

CAF is yet to comment on the issue.

Should Tunisia failed to attend the tournament then Libya will take Tunisia’s place.

The competition’s draw is scheduled for early next year in Cameroon.
