The Federation of Tunisian Football, FTF has picked end of May as temporary date for resumption of the country’s domestic championships.
The news was disclosed in a media release this Friday following a meeting of FTF officials.
The Tunisian championships were halted midway into the month of March following the outbreak of the CoronaVirus pandemic.
The resumption date was one of the decisions reached by the FTF to chat a way forward after the postponement of the leagues in March due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.
However, the decisions were reached on the condition of getting an authorisation from the authorities concerned.
Consequently, a preparation period of at least three weeks will be granted to the clubs before the resumption of official matches, knowing that resumption of training will only take place with the authorization of the authorities concerned.
The FTF also decided that if the league goes beyond June 30, contracts of players will be extended until the end of the championship, but not beyond November 30, 2020.
The statement concludes that ”The Tunisian Football Federation via its members, its various structures and all its departments, will remain available to affiliated clubs.”
