Super Eagles defender, William Troost Ekong scored an own goal for his English Championship side, Watford in the course of their 2-1 home win over Derby County on Friday.
Ekong scored the unfortunate own goal in the 77th minute which eventually was a consolation goal for Derby County.
He saw 90 minutes of action for Watford in the English Championship round 31 game.
Joao Pedro scored the opening goal of the game for Watford in the 19th minute.
Will Hughes doubled the host lead off Chalobah’s assist in the 21st minute before Williams Troost Ekong’s own goal reduced their two-goal advantage to one.
Watford occupied the third position on the English Championship table with 57 points from 31 games, the same point with second-placed Brentford which has a game to spare.
They are four points behind league leaders, Norwich City which also has a game at hand.
Watford will travel to play Blackburn Rovers on February 24, 2021, in their next game.
