20 year old forward Layton Ndukwu has been loaned out to English third tier club Southend after a two year contract extension with Leicester City.
The former England U-17 international came through the ranks of Leicester City academy.
“It’s good foundations for the start of my professional career,” the player told Leicester’s club website.
“I need a fresh challenge to kick-start my professional career and I hope to make the best of the opportunity.
“Its a really good opportunity to get some first team football at a good club and I can’t wait wait to get started.
“I have been trying to get out on loan for the last three years but I’ve matured a lot recently and it was just a matter of time before I get out.”

Though Layton Ndukwu has played for England’s U-17s he is still eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
