Arsenal have confirmed that their former skipper Laurent Koscielny has moved on after spending almost a decade with the north London club.
The defender has returned to the France to play for Girondin de Bordeaux for a permanent contract worth £4.6 million.
The defender made 353 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions since joining them from Lorient in 2010.
He helped Arsenal to three FA Cup titles, in 2014, 2015 and 2017.
The 33 year old center back began his career with Guingamp in 2004, and stayed with them till 2007 when he moved to Tour FC.
After two seasons with Tour FC he moved to Lorient where he spent one season before joining Arsenal.
In an official statement Arsenal Football Club have shown their appreciation to the the player for his services.
“We decided to sanction his move to Bordeaux ones we agreed acceptable terms,” the statement reads.
“We thank Laurent for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best.”
Koscielny was entering the final year of his contract with Arsenal and pushed for a move away from the club.
He has won 51 caps for France since making his international debut in 2011.
