In search of a striker to replace their injured Dutch forward Memphis Depay, Lyon are edging closer to sealing a move for Karl Toko-Ekambi.

According to reports from Spanish daily AS, Lyon have reached an agreement with Villarreal to get the player on an initial loan deal with the option to buy him later for €20 million.

The Gones will also pay a percentage to the Yellow Submarines, if they eventually sell the Cameroon forward.

The player is said to have arrived in France over the weekend and is expected to have a medical on Monday before officially signing for Lyon.

The 27-year-old Cameroon international had previously played for Sochaux and Angers in France prior to his move to Spain.
