Belgian champions, KRC Genk have announced the permanent capture of Super Eagles forward, Paul Onuachu from Danish side FC Midtjylland.
The 25-year-old, who helped Nigeria clinch a record 8th African Cup of Nations (AFCON) bronze medal in Egypt last month, becomes the club’s eighth signing of the season and would join fellow Nigerian and former Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club (MFM FC) goal king Stephen Odey who also joined this summer from Swiss club FC Zurich.
KRC Genk reached an agreement with the Danish FC Midtjylland about the transfer of Paul Onuachu. The 25-year-old Nigerian striker signs a contract until 2024.
“Paul Onuachu is a real target striker and he is very present in the box, strong in duels both in the air and on the ground.,” the club wrote on their website announcing the lanky forward.
Onuachu joined FC Midtjylland in 2013 and featured in 181 matches for the club, scoring 74 goals and providing 23 more to help the club clinch the league title in 2017/2018 season and adding the cup title the following year.
He also has six senior Eagles cap to his name whilst also scoring once in the process in Super Eagles 1-0 international friendly triumph over Pharaoh of Egypt.
