Ghana’s U-20 international defender Nana Kwame Antwi has signed for French club Lille on a season long loan with the option to buy him from FC Lori Vanadzor.

The 19 year old has taken a huge step up in his career, leaving from the Armenian top flight to the French Ligue 1.

Lille’s official statement announcing the player’s arrival reads: “LOSC continues to prepare for the future with the arrival of promising defender Nana Kwame Antwi.

At 19, the Ghana U-20 international is on loan (with call option) for a season at LOSC by FC Lori Vanadzor( Armenia). He will play initially with the Pro 2 group.

“Young and detected early, Nana Antwi has a margin of progression that will permit him continue to progress among the Dogues, firstly with the Pro 2 group.

“LOSC is delighted to welcome this African football future great and wishes him the best adaptation.”

Nana Kwame Antwi played 33 games last season in the Armenian top flight with FC Lori Vanadzor, scoring one goal as a right-back.

He moved to the Armenian club from Ghanaian club Accra Young Wise in 2018.

He played the Qualifiers for the Africa Youth Championship ( U-17s) in Tanzania.
