The English Premier League Summer transfer window closed at 17:00 CAT on Thursday August 8, 2019. These are the key deadline moves;
Everton have landed Nigerian Winger Alex Iwobi on a five year contract from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee.
The Nigerian made 100 Premier League appearances for the Gunners after coming through their academy.
The 23 year old Nigerian is the Toffees seventh signing of this summer’s transfer window. He joins goalkeeper Jonas Lössl, right back Djibril Sidibé, midfielders Fabian Delph, Andre Gomes and Jean Philippe Gbamin and forward Moise Kean.
Iwobi has 36 caps for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and helped them to a third place finish in the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
Iwobi is the cousin of famous Super Eagles No. 10 Jay Jay Okocha and was born in Lagos before moving to England at the age of 4. He played 149 games for Arsenal in all competitions, scoring 15 goal and contributing to 42.
Brazilian defender David Luiz has moved from west London to North London after he completed a move from Chelsea to Arsenal.
32 year old Brazil center-back David Luiz completed a shock move to Arsenal from Chelsea on deadline day for an undisclosed fee.
Luiz reunites with Arsenal boss Unai Emery with whom he worked during his time with French Champions PSG.
“David has huge experience and I look forward working with him again. He is a well-known player and adds to our defensive strength,” Emery told Arsenal’s website.
The Gunners also landed 22 year old Scottish left-back Kieran Tierney from Celtic Glasgow on a long term contract for an undisclosed fee.
“We are delighted Kieran is joining us,” Emery told the club’s website. “He is a very talented player who will continue to improve.”
Belgian international Praet joins Leicester City.
Leicester City confirmed the signing of Belgian international midfielder Dennis Praet from Sampdoria for an undisclosed fee.
25 year old Praet signed a five year contract and becomes the fourth summer signing for Brendan Rogers team. He joins Ayoze Perez, Youri Tielemans and James Justin.
Sheffield United brings in Muhamed Besic and Michael Verrips.
“I’m happy with the trust that has been shown in me, and I am looking forward to showing people what I can do,” Verrips told the club’s official website.
Newly promoted Sheffield United boosted their chances of beating the drop for the first season after their return to the Premier League by adding Mohamed Beric on loan from Everton and Dutch goalkeeper Micheal Verrips on a free transfer.
Tottenham Hotspurs land Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Le Celso.
Tottenham Hotspurs have secured the services of 19 year old Ryan Sessegnon from relegated Fulham.
Sessegnon who can play either as left back or winger signed a contract that will tie him to the North London club till 2025. He has been given the No. 29 shirt.
He made 35 Premier League appearances last season for Fulham, scoring two goals and providing six assists.
Sessegnon has been joint by Argentine international attacking midfielder Giovani Le Celso from Real Betis.
Le Celso joins on a season long loan deal with Tottenham having the option to make the deal permanent.
The 23 year old former PSG is Tottenham’s third senior signing of the Summer, after midfielder Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon and Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham. He is now the fourth Argentine player in the squad under Argentine Manager Mauricio Pochetino.
He has been given the No. 18 shirt.
Danny Drinkwater joins Burnley.
29 year old English midfielder Danny Drinkwater has joint the Clarets on a loan deal until January 6, 2020 from Chelsea.
Drinkwater made 12 appearances for Chelsea in 2017/2018 season scoring one goal.
He was a key member of the Leicester City team under Claudio Ranieri that stunned all and sundry to win the Premier League title in the 2015/2016 season.
Senegalese Winger Ismaila Sarr joins Watford for a club record fee.
Watford have completed the signing of 21 year old Senegalese winger Ismaila Sarr from French Ligue 1 side Rennes for a club record transfer fee on a five year contract.
The Senegalese winger was highly sought-after by Europe’s elite clubs.
He is the fourth signing of the summer by coach Javi Gracia as he looks to better the team’s performances in the 2019/2020 Premier League season. Sarr joins Danny Welbeck, Craig Dawson and Tom Dele-Bashiru.
The former Metz winger helped Rennes to the French Cup trophy last season, beating PSG in the final. He joint Rennes from Metz in 2017. He also featured heavily for the Teranga Lions of Senegal who lost the final of the 2019 AFCON to Algeria.
He scored 18 goal for Rennes in 77 appearances,with some of them being extremely breathtaking.
He has won 18 caps for Senegal including three appearances in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
He will wear the No. 23 shirt with the Hornets.
Aaron Mooy moves to Brighton.
Brighton and Hove Albion have secured the services of Australian midfielder Aaron Mooy from relegated Huddersfield Town on a season long loan.
Mooy made 65 Premier League appearances for Huddersfield, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
Brighton’s Manager Graham Potter was very happy to secure the Australian international, “he has played very well over the past two seasons in the Premier League, and will bring a different option and added competition in our midfield.”
Andy Carroll has returned to Newcastle United.
Andy Carroll has returned to his boyhood club on an initial one year deal from West Ham United.
Carroll returns to Newcastle after an eight year absence, since joining Liverpool in 2011. He scored 33 goals for Newcastle in his first spell with the club.

English championship Manchester City have signed goalkeeper Scott Carson from Derby County on a year long loan deal.
