Martin Hongla Yma II
Born on March 16, 1998 in Yaoundé, 21 year old Cameroon midfielder Martin Hongla who has spent the last season on loan firstly to FC Barcelona’s B team then to Karpaty Lviv in the Ukrainian top flight from Granada CF, has finally secured a permanent move to Belgian top tier club Royal Antwerp.
Born in Yaoundé, Martin Hongla joined Granada CF in 2016, from Blaise Nkufo’s Nkufo Sports Academy. He was first sent to the reserves in Segunda División B.
Martin Hongla made his senior debut on August 21, 2016, starting in a 1–1 home draw against Atlético Mancha Real. He went on to make his first team and Spanish La Liga debut on January 28, 2017, playing the full 90 minutes in a 0–2 defeat at Villarreal CF.
On the eve of the 2017–2018 season, he was definitely promoted to the main squad, now in Segunda División. On January 16, 2018, he was loaned to fellow league team FC Barcelona B, for six months.
On 3 July 2019, after a six-month loan to FC Karpaty Lviv, Hongla has finally secured a permanent move to Royal Antwerp FC in the Belgian First Division A, where he will join his compatriot Didier Lamkel Ze.
