Gervais Yao Kouassi popularly referred to as ‘Gervinho’ lifted a T-shirt as homage to fallen coupé decale’ sensation Ange Didier Houon (DJ Arafat), after scoring a brace in their 3-1 win over Venezia on Saturday.

Gervinho scored the first of his two goals at the 9 minute for Parma before completing his double at the 72 minute in the third round of the Copa Italia showdown against Venezia.

This was in addition to the message he tweeted on that evening of sorrow on the continent “rest in peace, nobody deserves to die prematurely. You would live for ever through your musics”.

The striker’s intentions were made clear. He lifted the T- shirt upwards with a touching “rest in peace DJ Arafat”.

The continent was plunged into shock when the 33-year-old musician was announced dead after being involved in a horrible motorbike accident in the late hours of August 11.

Since then, football stars including: Drogba, Pepe, Gervinho, Gyan and Eto’o to name a few have shown their support to the music star’s family in one way or the other.
