- Ethiopia has set December 26 as their arrival date for the 2021 AFCON.
The Wallies of Ethiopia will depart Addis Ababa on Sunday, December 26, for Yaounde-Cameroon.
Coach Wubetu Abate and the rest of the delegation will fly to Cameroon to continue preparations for the tournament.
Ethiopia has retained 28 African-based players for the tournament and they will be accompanied by a full staff with whom they will intensify in Cameroon.
Hundreds of fans of the team are expected to travel to Cameroon to support the team during the tournament.
Ethiopia returns to the tournament for the first time since exiting in the group stages of the 2013 competition.
The 1962 Champions are making plans to have at least three warm-up matches before the start of the tournament.
Zimbabwe, Sudan and Morocco are possible opponents in the friendlies on dates to be confirmed.
Arriving on Boxing Day provides Ethiopia two weeks to settle in to life in Cameroon before their first game in the tournament, against Cape Verde on January 9.
They face Cameroon in their second game before concluding group stages demands against Cape Verde.
