CAF Secretary General Veron Mosengo-Omba met the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, His Excellency Felix Tshisekedi during his working visit to the country’s captal Kinshasa where he delivered a message from CAF President Doctor Patrice Motsepe.
The CAF Secretary General extended an invitation from CAF President, Doctor Motsepe to His Excellency Tshisekedi to attend the up-coming TotalErnegies African Cup of Nations, Cameroon 2021 at Olembe Stadium, in Yaounde.
Despite the Congolese absence from the continental soccer showpiece, President Felix was briefed on the latest developments on the road-map discussed and agreed by CAF, FIFA and FECOFA.
The road-map covers a number of issues relating to the Congolese football including ; legal and regulatory framework, governance, finance, marketing and competitions.
” We thank the Head of State of Congo DR for granting us audience and for his tireness commitment to the Congolese football.”
” I was also please to convey warm greetings and the invitation from President Motsepe to President Tshisekedi to attend the TotalErnegies African Cup of Nations. ”
” The meeting with the President was very positive and he assured us of his support more especially towards next year’s finals of the African School Champions Cup Pilot Project in Schools Football”.
The 33rd edition of the African soccer mass will see the participation 24- nations, divided into six groups. Expected to play across the following towns Yaounde, Douala, Buea, Limbe, Bafoussam and Garoua.
As preparations reach high peak, the official tournament’s mascot “Mola”, for the past weeks is on a mini-tour over the national territory.
The five minutes AFCON anthem titled ” Passionate of football”, an artistic piece of the African Smile Group, has been exposed on the Cameroonian public on the numerous online facets.
However, the 40-man squad pre-selected by the Indomitable lions’, head coach Antonio Conceicao Oliviera are yet to gather for a training camp in view of AFCON 2021.
