Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa says the TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021 currently holding in Cameroon will be his last AFCON.
The former Kano Pillars, CSKA Moscow, and Leicester City player told journalists during the pre-match press conference ahead of Nigeria’s opening Group D game against Egypt.
“This will be my last AFCON.” Says Ahmed Musa.
Musa who holds the record as the most capped Super Eagles player surpassing the record of Joseph Yobo and Vincent Enyeama asserted that before his retirement, he will give his best to the team.
He said: “I will always give my best when I am called up, either in the tournament or the qualifiers. I want to give my best always.”
Three-times African Champions, Nigeria will join Black Stars of Ghana on four trophies if it can clinch the AFCON title in Cameroon.
The team will start its campaign against Egypt before playing Sudan and Guinea Bissau in the other Group D games.
