Karim Konate of ASEC Mimosa has been included in the Ivory Coast 28-man TotalEnergies AFCON 2021 squad made public on Thursday December 23.
The teenage Ivorian Forward, has been in good form and very useful for his club this season, scoring 7 goals in 6 games at CAF Club competition, making a tally of 13 goals in 11 games played for his club this season.
Coach Patrice Beaumelle was always sure of a better substitute for Sebastian Haller of Ajax Armsterdam in the person of Konate during their World Cup Qualifier.
The little academician is making great strides, After tormenting defenses in the Ivorian Ligue 1 last season. Karim Konate honored his first cap with the Elephants on Friday October 8,2021.
He took Kouassi’s place 15 minutes to the end of their World Cup qualifier game against Malawi and with his pace, contributed to their 3-1 win.
Konate was recently named one of the 30 best players under-17 by the English magazine.
