Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets begin their Total U-17 African Cup of Nations campaign on a winning note as they fought hard to overcome the host country, Tanzania 5-4 on Sunday, April 14, 2919 in Dar Es Salaam.

The Garba Manu led charges took 3-1 goal lead into the dressing room but moments after the restart of second half, the Golden Eaglets surrendered their lead to the Tanzanian who went ahead through the penalty and strike from Edmund John.
However the Golden Eagles came back to win the match with a well taken free kick and a screamer from wisdom Ubani and Ibraheem Jabaar as the game ended 5-4 in favour of the Nigerian side.

Nigeria will face Angola on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 for the second game.
