Captain of the Tanzanian national football team, John Raphael Bocco has been ruled out of Tuesday’s CHAN 2020 Group D opener against the Chipolopolo of Zambia.
www.kick442.com has learnt that the Simba SC striker will miss the game due to illness.
Bocco’s teammate at Simba SC and defensive midfielder, Erasto Edward Nyoni might replace him as Tanzania captain for today’s game.
Zambia and Tanzania will square up at Limbe Stadium in their Group D opening game by 5:00 pm local time.
Both sides met at the 2009 African Nations Championship (CHAN 2009) in Ivory Coast which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Dennis Banda’s goal was cancelled out Shadrack Nsajigwa’s penalty.
This will be Tanzania’s second appearance at the tournament after crashing out of the group stage in 2009.
Zambia on the other hand is featuring for their fourth time with their best appearance being a third-place finish in 2009.
