Head coach of Cranes of Uganda Jonathan McKinstry has lamented over the absence of winger Milton Karisa who was injured and left the pitch prematurely against Rwanda.
Karisa left the green turf 15minutes into the first segment of the game which has caused him a miss against Togo in their second group stage encounter that will be played Friday January 22, 2021.
“Ultimately the results are very frustrating for everybody. Karisa has done very well for the last few weeks, he finished the UPL very strong scoring a couple of goals and in the Pre-CHAN tournament. He had to come out in the first 15minutes of the the first game with high strength of the squad.” Coach Jonathan McKinstry
As passionate as the Northern Irish man is for his squad, he leaves everything in the hands of the doctors for an eventual return of Karisa to the field, though he will miss the encounter against Togo
“We are letting the doctors do their work on him and see how we are able to get him back and what condition he can be. As earlier said he is able to get to the training field showing they have done a good job with him. He is obviously out of this game against Togo we will see how it progresses in the next few days”
Milton Karisa has been an awesome striker with of Uganda and a footballer who plays as right winger for Vipers Uganda Premier League and the Uganda national team. He caught the site of many during his outstanding performance during the four country Pre-CHAN tournament organised in Cameroon
Many are looking forward to his return for spectacular moves.
Uganda will face Togo at the Reunification stadium in Douala 8:00pm, Friday 22 January 2021.
