Enyimba FC of Nigeria suffered a 2-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates of South Africa in their second Group A game of the 2020/2021 Total CAF Confederations Cup in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
Namibia’s Deon Hotto scored the opening goal of the game for Orlando Pirates in the 27th minute at the Orlando Stadium, Johannesburg.
Austin Oladapo equalised for the Peoples Elephant in the additional minutes of the first half from the penalty spot.
Tshegofatso Mabasa missed a penalty in the 77th minute for what could have been Orlando Pirates’ second goal.
The South African eventually had the last laugh as he scored the winning goal for Orlando Pirates in the 89th minute.
Orlando Pirates occupied the first position in Group A with four points after two games, one point ahead of Enyimba before Al-Ahly Benghazi’s game with ES Setif.
Enyimba will host ES Setif of Algeria in their next group game on April 4, 2021.
