The six teams that will participate in this year’s Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six will rely on potent and prolific goal scorers if they are to win the league title come May 22, 2022.

Etim Edidiong scored all her five (5) in five straight league games during the regular season.
She scored a goal each against Sunshine Queens, Delta Queens, FC Robo Queens, Royal Queens, and Abia Angels from Matchday 9 to 13 (March 2 to 30, 2022).
Moses Aduku tutored side will bank on her goals alongside that of Monday Gift to deliver the good for the 2021 Aiteo Cup (FA Cup) Champions.

Mercy Omokwu (Delta Queens) – 6 Goals
Mercy Omokwu scored a combined number of six (6) goals for both Confluence Queens and Delta Queens during the regular season.
She scored four goals for Confluence Queens including a hat-trick during her former side’s 4-0 win over Pelican Stars in the opening game of the season on December 8, 2021.
Her two goals for Delta Queens came against Abia Angels and Bayelsa Queens respectively.
Delta Queens will hope her scoring boot will lift the team to the league title.

Yemisi Samuel (Edo Queens) – 6 Goals
The former Sunshine Queens and Osun Babes forward marshalled Edo Queens’ nine match unbeaten run including six straight victories during 12 regular-season games.
She scored against Naija Ratels FC (3), Nasarawa Amazons (1), Osun Babes (1), and Pelican Stars (1).
The former Nigerian national Under 17 (Flamingos) forward will play a pivotal role in an attempt to propel the host team to the league title and by extension a place in the 2022 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League if she gets her goal-scoring rhythm right.

Motunrayo Ezekiel (Naja Ratels FC) -6 Goals
Debutant, Naija Ratels made history by qualifying for league deciding Super Six on its maiden league appearance thanks to Motunrayo Ezekiel’s six goals.
Motunrayo scored two goals against Adamawa Queens on December 22, 2021, to open her goal account for the season.
The former Lakeside Queens player followed that with a hat-trick against Pelican Stars in her side’s 3-0 victory as well as a goal as Naija Ratels upended Confluence Queens 2-1 on March 30, 2022.

Dooshima Tarnum (Nasarawa Amazons) – 7 Goals

Oluwatosin Ogundeko (Rivers Angels) – 6 Goals

Oluwatosin Ogundeko scored six goals for Royal Queens during the regular season which attracted the league holders.
The firepower of the duo of Tosin Ogundeko and Maryann Ezeanagu can go a long way in retaining the league title for Rivers Angels.
As 2021/2022 NWFL Premiership Super Six kicks off on Monday, May 16, 2022, one should expect more skills and goals from the above-mentioned players.
The grass will surely suffer when these six clubs trade tackles for the league title.
