Valmiera FC striker, Tolu Arokodare has been recognized as the best player of Optibet Premier League season in July by journalists and football fans, www.kick442.com can report.
In a similar vein, Oļegs Kononovs from Riga FC will receive the award of the best coach in the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) Coaches Council.
The Latvian Football Federation (LFF) Coaches’ Council and the Latvian Football Championship Optibet nominated five players for the best player in July. The players include Tolu Arokodare (Valmiera FC), Nemanja Belakovič (FK Spartaks), Felipe Brisola (Riga FC), Stefan Panic (Riga FC) and Rihards Ozoliņš (FK Metta).
At the end of the vote for journalists and fans, it became known that the title of the best player would be won by Valmiera FC’s attack leader and currently the most productive Optibet Premier League footballer, Tolu Arokodare.
Tolu Arokodare and Oleg Kononov will be presented with commemorative prizes.
Tolu Arokodare is undoubtedly one of the brightest stars of the Latvian championship. The 19-year-old player from Nigeria has already scored 14 goals this season. In July he scored five goals and had two assists.
Meanwhile, Riga FC, led by Oleg Kononov, continues an impressive series of victories in the Optibet Premier League. Rigans have already celebrated victories in 12 games in a row, including the maximum number of points in July – six victories in six games.
Candidates for the best football player of the month are nominated by the LFF Coaches Council and the Latvian Football Premier League, followed by the votes of Latvian sports journalists and fans on social networks Facebook and Twitter, while the LFF Coaches Council is responsible for determining the best coach.
