The Women’s National football team of Ethiopia have practiced for the very first time at the Amadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde this Monday.

The team arrived Cameroon at 1:30 PM on Sunday and had their first recognizance session of the pitch allocated for the game from 3:38 PM to 4:50PM local time on Monday.

The 20 girls brought by coach Selam Zereaye practiced in intense rain working on different aspects of the game before Tuesday’s all important encounter in Yaounde.

Cameroon and Ethiopia are on their last huddle before the 2020 Olympic games entrance as both nations seek to get the most admired ticket to take them to the Rio Olympic games.

Cameroon played a 1 all draw away in Ethiopia last week and needs a victory or a goalless draw at home to sail through to the next round of the qualifiers with DR Congo waiting.

The “Lucy” as they are locally called, have never made the summer Olympic games as their best aborted attempt came in 2012 when they went through DR Congo, Ghana, before losing to SA in the final round.

Ethiopia are on course of equaling their best run if they can get a favourable result against the Lionesses on their home patch come Tuesday.
