Ghanaian Light Heavyweight boxer Samed Shakul has gained qualification ahead of the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympics game in Japan.
The Heavyweight (75-81Kg) boxer gained the qualification based on the Boxing Task Force (BTF) Rankings released in February,2021, which placed him 10th in the world and 3rd in Africa.
Shakul joins Flyweight- Sulemanu Tetteh and Samuel Takyi-Featherweight who have already gained qualifications from Ghana.
The three equals the number of boxers who were sent to the 2012 London Olympics and an improvement over the 2016 Rio Olympics Games held in Brazil.
