Cameroon’s Karl Toko-Ekambi scored a first-half double as Lyon recorded a comprehensive 4-1 win over Monaco on Sunday in match-day 11.
The Groupama stadium staged the goals-packed encounter which started slowly.
It was left to captain Memphis to spark his side into action in the late kick off match, expertly opening the scoring on 12 minute.
Toko-Ekambi grapped the second for Lyon in the 34th minute before adding his second in the 44th to make it four-nil after a Housem Aouar had converted a 41st minute spot-kick earlier.
The score stayed at four-nil till the break.
Ben Yedder reduced the deficit three minutes into the second segment but Lyon tightened their back-line for the rest of the game till full-time resulting to a 4-1 win.
It is the second game in a row in which Toko has scored a brace. He lasted the duration of the game.
Lyon move to the 6th spot with 13 points from eight games this season.
They boys of coach Rudi Garcia have to quickly return to work in preparation for their next league fixture away to Lille next weekend.
