Olympique Lyonnais of Indomitable Lions of Cameroon forward Karl Toko-Ekambi Louis Brilliant outclass Nantes of Jean-Charles Castelleto in match-day 15 of the French Ligue 1 championship on Wednesday.
In-form forward Karl Toko-Ekambi was amongst the scorers as Lyon destroyed Nantes plans of getting a good result from their visit to the Groupama Stadium just within the first 44 minutes.
Both Cameroonians started the game with Ekambi’s Lyon handed the responsibility to go pass the Nantes backline with Casteletto as sweeper.
The visitors were off to a perfect start as they scored four minutes into the game through lead scorer Karl Toko-Ekambi Louis Brilliant.
Though the first goal for the host came early enough to unsettled visitors Nantes, the Canneries remained steadfast for the next 33 minutes without conceding.
It took 33 minutes again before Tino Kadewere scored the second before Lucas Paqueta completed the rout with a third goal a minute from half-time.
Both sides failed to score in the second segment with the major highlights being the replacement of players including a Toko who was taken off in the 71st minute of the game.
The win is Lyon’s ten in 17 games this season. They have won ten of the games and played parity in six – losing just once.
Lyon are tied at the top with 36 points as Lille and host 7th-place RC Lens of Ignatius Ganago on January 6 counting for match-day 18 of the French Ligue 1 championship.
28-year-old Toko-Ekambi has scored nine goals and provided three assists in 12 French Ligue 1 games this season.
