Nigerian athlete, Tobiloba Amusan becomes the first Nigerian athlete in history to ever set a World record in any event.
She broke the World Record with a 12.12s (+0.9) in the semi-final of women’s 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championship in Eugene, Oregon.
In the final, Tobi Amusan won the World Title with a blazing 12.06s (+2.5).
For breaking the World Record in 100m hurdles, the Nigerian golden girl has been rewarded with $100,000 prize money.
Elsewhere, another Nigerian athlete, Ese Brume delivers again on the world stage, landing a silver medal in the women’s long jump at the World Athletics Championship with a leap of 7.02m.
Team Nigeria had to wait till the last day of the Championship to be able to win its two medals at the World Athletic Championship.
