Nigeria National League (NNL) clubs have been sending their commiserating messages to Remo Stars Sports Club after the demise of their defender and Assistant Captain, Tiamiyu Kazeem (Kaka) courtesy the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) on Saturday, February 23, 2020.
The clubs sent their messages via their official social media pages.

3SC COMMISERATE WITH REMO STARS, TIYAMU FAMILY
The management of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, has described as sad, the death of a player of Remo Stars FC, Tiyamu Kazeem.
The Remo Stars assistant captain, according to report by the club’s Media Manager, Oladimeji Oshode, met his untimely demise on Saturday in Sagamu, ,allegedly in the hands of officers of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).
In a condolence message released by the club, the 3SC management, while condoling with the entire Remo Stars family and the family of the deceased, decribed the death of ‘Kaka’ as a big loss not only to Remo Stars but Nigerian football as whole.
“Going by the incident that led to Tiyamu’s death, the safety of our players is becoming worrisome.
“We condemn totally this ugly development which has put paid to the ambition of the player and has thrown his family into mourning,” said the statement.
3SC, who recalled how the Joint Task Force (JTF), took the life of one their players, Izu Joseph, in almost similar fashion few years ago, therefore called for thorough investigation into the issue, to unravel the truth and ultimately bring the culprits to book, to prevent any future recurrence.
The club prayed that God will grant the player eternal rest and give his family, friends and colleagues the fortitude to bear the great loss.

Gateway Utd Express Shock, Sympathize With Remo Stars Over The Killing Of Defender, Tiyamu Kazeem
The management of Gateway United FC condoles with Remo Stars over the killing of its assistant captain and defender Tiyamiyu Kazeem (Kaka) by a policeman from the Special Anti Robbery Squad from the Ogun State command on Saturday 22nd February, 2020.
Acting General Manager of Gateway United FC, Mr Niyi Soleye condemned the killing by the SARS operative, while calling on the Federal Government to curb the excesses of the unit.
“It came to us as rude shock that such a talent was wasted due to the overzealousness and non professionalism of Special Anti Robbery Squad of the Ogun State Police Command. Our thoughts are with the family of Tiyamiyu and Remo Stars, and we pray that may the Almighty give the family and the club the fortitude to bear the loss”
“We hope that the SARS officials will face the music so that this will serve as deterrent to other officers in the squad with a view to eschewing extra judicial killings and be highly professional in the discharge of their duties”
In a release from the media officer of Remo Stars, Dimeji Shonde, an eyewitness claimed that the SARS officer stopped the footballer to label him a Yahoo Boy and insisted on taking him to a nearby police station in Sagamu despite showing them his identity card.
The deceased Tiyamiyu and his friend Sanni were reported to have obliged but asked to know where they are taking them to since they were driving towards Sagamu-Abeokuta Expressway, this prompted the SARS officials to stop the car and push him (Tiyamiyu) out of the car, whereby an unknowing vehicle on high speed knocked him down.
He was immediately rushed to Fakoya Hospital in Sagamu, where it was confirmed that Tiyamiyu Kazeem had given up the ghost.
A report released on Sunday, February 23, 2020, by police inspector attached to zonal intervention squad, Obada, Oko in Abeokuta opined that “an information about the deceased that he always put on military apparels knowing fully well that he is not a military personnel. Based on the information, the inspector went to Shagamu, Ogun state, and saw the deceased putting on a military cap consequent upon which he got arrested. On his way to Abeokuta, the vehicle they were traveling with developed a mechanical fault and while the officer was trying to rectify the fault, the arrested person (player) jumped down from the vehicle to escape. In a bid to run across the road, an on coming vehicle which is on high speed knocked him down and he die”.
The Police department also confirmed that they are investing the situation.
Until his death, Tiamiyu Kazeem was a humble and reliable defender for Remo Stars FC in the ongoing 2019/2020 Nigeria National League (NNL).
