Former Black Stars Psychologist Professor Mintah has explained why he is not interested in coaching in Ghana.
In an interview with Asante Fokuo of ATL FM in Cape Coast, Prof Mintah stated three reasons why he is not interested in coaching any club in the country.
The chairman of the coaches association of Ghana said that there is no security in coaching in Ghana.
“Yes there is no security in coaching clubs in Ghana. You will be given a contract for about two years and before the contract ends, they will fire you without any justifiable reason.” He said
Professor Mintah further added that, Coaches in Ghana are not paid well.
“The coaches are not well paid and as a professor and a university lecturer, I can’t leave my job for such work”
Finally, he also said that he cannot let the club be at a certain place and him at another place. He always wants to be with the club and that will be very difficult because of his work as a lecture.
“I always wants to be with the club. I can’t leave the team somewhere and stay elsewhere.
I was once given the Black Queens job but since the team was to camp at Prampram, I didn’t accept because I could not stay in Cape Coast and leave the team there”.
Professor Mintah who was the Black Stars Psychologist is a lecturer of the university of Cape Coast and currently the chairman of the Coaches association of Ghana.
