Inter Milan may rejoin the race to land Atletico Madrid’s Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.
The Italian Serie A giants had manifested their interest in the 26-year-old Ghanaian towards the end of last season, and even held talks with Atletico but the move failed to materialize.
Roma, Manchester United and Arsenal have also shown an interest in the player, but Atletico themselves are not willing to let go their box-to-box midfielder. They have lined up a contract extension for him with an improved salary and an increased release clause.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Inter are waiting to see how talks on a contract extension for the player evolves. If Atletico fail to agree on an extension with the player, then they will return for his services.
Thomas Partey’s current contract with the Rojiblancos runs until June 2023.
He has been an ever present in Diego Simeone’s team this season, making 35 appearances across all competitions, with three goals and one assist.
