Djiboutian Premier League outfit AS Solar 7 are in talks to hire the services of 53-year old Cameroonian trainer Thomas Ngo Liibih.
The former Canon Yaounde and Cameroon Under-17 Lions coach has confirmed interest from the Club as reports of a switch to abroad continues to make rounds of local media.
The former Indomitable Lions defender and astute trainer was a part of the great Indomitable Lions of Cameroon team that reached the quarter-finals of the Italian 90 FIFA world cup.
Before now, Liibih had been training boys at his Academy since losing hIs job as head coach of the Under-17 national selection of Cameroon in October 2019.
Liibih trained that Cameroon team for four years winning two UNIFFAC titles, an Under-17 AFCON title in 2019 in Tanzania which ended Cameroon’s 16-year wait for success in the competition.
Noted for his tough stands on how he works, Liibih is the ideal man for such an interesting project especially with the big egos in the dressing room.
If the deal goes through, Liibih will replace coach Helen and manage former Cameroon international Alexandre Song, Danny Nounkeu and even Carlos Kameni set to join the club.
Solar 7 failed to impress in last year’s CAF Confederation but will represent Djibouti in the CAF Champions League in the upcoming season.
