Djiboutian Premier League outfit AS Solar 7 have agreed to terminate their working relationship with 53-year old Cameroonian trainer Thomas Ngo Liibih, kick442.com can report.
The former Canon Yaounde and Cameroon Under-17 Lions coach who joined the club in September has left on mutual agreement to pave way for a fresh beginning following a run of unsatisfactory results.
Liibih spent three months on the technical bench of the club, but unfortunately couldn’t guide them to the group stages of the 2021-2022 CAF Champions League.
The club has also endured a dip in form so far this season. They are ranked 4th on the log, seven points off leaders GR/ Siaf. These all- together has prompted the decision to part ways.
Liibih, former Indomitable Lions’ defender and astute trainer was a part of the great Indomitable Lions of Cameroon team that reached the quarter-final of the Italian 90 FIFA world cup.
Winner two UNIFFAC titles, an Under-17 AFCON title in 2019 in Tanzania, coach Liibih is a free agent awaiting new opportunities.
The next trainer must do his best to bring out more from the star-studded side with the likes former Cameroon internationals Alexandre Song, Danny Nounkeu, Carlos Kameni and Diafra Sakho who won tens of caps for the Teranga Lions of Senegal.
Solar officials will be hoping to rally and mount a recovery in their title defense.
