Banyana Banyana forward Chrestinah Thembi Kgatlana, 24, has completed a switch to Spanish SD Eibar on a one-year-deal.
The 2018 African Women’s footballer of the year joins the Club as a free agent from Portuguese side SL Benfica.
The Club took to Twitter to announce the deal this Tuesday, July 21.
Thembi has had a somewhat stop-start career since being crown the African Footballer of the year.
Last-term, she scored thrice in two appearances for Benfica.
The erstwhile Houston Dash forward becomes the third South African player to move to Spain this summer. She follows the steps of the likes of Amanda Mthandi who has switched to Spanish outfit CD Badajoz from Sasol Women’s League side University of Johannesburg ladies and
Nothando Vilakazi who joined EDF Logrono two weeks ago.
In all, Thembi has been better for country than Club as she has netted 17 goals in 55 games for the Banyana Banyana.
