Intermediate Lions of Cameroon hopeful Thierry Akono Akono has told kick442.com that he knew and told his team mate he will score in this Thursday’s international friendly pitting Congo Republic against Cameroon.
The forward scored a wonderful solo goal in the 42nd minute of the game. He dribbled pass two defenders before putting the ball pass goalkeeper Ndzila Pavelh of Congo.
The forward was a constant menace to the opposition defenders all afternoon replicating his form in training in the last two days before the match day.
“I told Bawak I will score, I knew there was a goal for me today. It is simple whenever I score regularly in training like it happened this week, I am nearly 100% sure I will do same on match-day.That is exactly what happened”: Thierry stated.
The forward was replaced in the 67th minutes but had done his job on the day.
Congo equalized at death through Mouandzibi Judea but Thierry can be arguably the best player on the day.
The forward has been a great part of AS Fortuna’s battle against relegation this campaign.
He has scored six goal in the Cameroon league one championship.
His first goal in international football is certainly a memorable one for the forward and a sign of the potentials in the 24-year-old forward.
Akono is amonsgt options hoping to work their way into the 23 player squad coach Yves Clement Arroga will pick for the 2020 CHAN competition in Cameroon this April.
